Now Hiring Experienced: Structural Steel Estimator
Job Type: Full Time
Shift: M-F, 40-48 hours/week
Work Location: Queensbury, NY
Pay Range: $70,000 - $90,000/yr
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Estimator to join our team in Queensbury, New York. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of estimating experience with a strong understanding of steel shapes, sizes, fabrication requirements, and take-off processes.
Responsibilities Include:
- Review drawings, blueprints, specifications, and engineered plans
- Perform detailed material take-offs and pricing
- Prepare cost estimates for structural and miscellaneous steel
- Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, and vendors
- Assist in proposal development and bid submissions
- Support value-engineering and cost-reduction options
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of structural steel estimating experience
- Strong knowledge of steel shapes, sizes, weights, and fabrication processes
- Proficiency with take-off software and digital plan reading tools
- Construction knowledge or field experience is a strong plus
- Excellent math, communication, and detail-oriented skills
- Project Management knowledge is a plus
